Do 80% of college graduates really move back home?

Jessica Anderson of the Baltimore Sun brings us the news from the coffee klatsch: 80% of the kids are back in the nest after the college industrial complex worked its magic. Some kids are stuck in unpaid internships but even the ones with jobs are staying at home to save money. One sucker for punishment is saving up for law school because the first degree worked so well. There’s not much mention of debt or the depleted savings of the parents, but I’m sure it makes a difference. Long ago when college was merely unaffordable, many of my friends got help from their parents to pay the rent after college. The parents didn’t want their little darlings living in a  neighborhood with affordable rents and so they coughed up more cash. They had that cash because the universities didn’t suck it up to build more latte bars and meta-bio-linguistic laboratories.
