You could pay $250k+ for a Stanford degree or just $17k for the “Hack Reactor”, a “CS bootcamp” designed to be the degree of the 21st century. (See Tech Crunch’s reporting by Colleen Taylor.) They teach you programming so you can get a job as a programmer. (Many of the graduates are said to make six figure incomes pretty quickly.) No detours to read Jane Austen or contemplate Thomas Hobbes. It’s all programming.
The only trouble is that the price per week is about the same as a regular college tuition. That’s a pretty expensive rate even if the term is much, much shorter.
