Is too much college sex boosting student debt?

And why can’t a blog cast about for more readers with a racy title? I hate to inject too much politics into this blog, but Rush Limbaugh’s discovery of the student debt issue bears mention, if only because it mixes together two of the biggest financial challenges of our generation: paying for health care and paying for education.

In this transcript, one Jason Easley takes Mr. Limbaugh to task for complaining that birth control prices are pushing up student debt. Mr. Limbaugh is sort of right– if we’re talking about a college that is adding so-called “free contraceptives” into the price by including it in the student health plan. It’s just one of the many benefits that everyone expects. Climbing walls, latte bars, science labs and big name professors that don’t teach. They all go hand in hand.

So let’s just run up the country’s credit card. Everything should be included, right? Why not starting including free drinks and other social lubricants? It only makes sense. Don’t worry, it’s “good debt”.
