College forsake their fancy degrees and go back to the land

I think urban farming sounds like a good idea. Getting in touch with the land is very romantic and I’m happy to celebrate it. But if my kids tossed aside their expensive education and found happiness with a job paying $14/hour, I would feel a bit sad about the money wasted. But what if the expensive college itself planted the seeds in the kid’s head? This story about urban farming from the Baltimore Sun’s Laura Vozzella set us wondering why the Maryland Institute College of Art is letting their seniors satisfy their requirements by slaughtering a sheep. A sheep? I realize that art is usually inscrutable and almost defiantly worthless, but something this practical is insulting to the parents.  Come on.
