A nice story by Christine McConville and Jerry Kronenberg from the Boston Herald tells a scary story about a nice girl who did what she was supposed to do: go to college. But somehow, the price kept going up. She said her debt was supposed to boil down to $300 a month. But somehow the numbers didn’t work out that way and the monthly payment soared to $1100. Along the way, her debt of $99k somehow turned into $125k thanks to the magic of fees and penalties. Whoo hoo. Gotta love this business. If only I could get into it.
